I enjoy reuniting and visiting with artist friends I have met at the festivals over the years. It is ‘hit and miss’ when you will see many of them again, as some get in the same shows you do that year and some don’t. We all share our latest “War Stories” from festivals, like the soaring heat that caused artists and customers alike to faint during one show or a flash flood running through festival grounds of another show in the SW, damaging may artists’ work from drenching rain. One year in Portland OR it rained so long and hard all day long, many artists had to put plywood in front of their booths because the mud was literally a foot deep and customers couldn’t enter their booths! Bless those hardy souls who come out in their raincoats and buy art! One artist tells of an approaching small scale tornado, packed up his work at the last second and then his tent was airborne! Many other artists weren’t so lucky and their art went flying!
