CRADLE PANEL CONSTRUCTION |
My wood cradle panels are constructed by affixing birch plywood to a solid pine frame. The plywood is made up thin layers of birch wood pressed together with alternating grain direction for greater strength, while the birch frame is mitered at a 45° angle and fit to the exact size of the sheet. The 1/8" thick plywood is joined to the frame with a strong adhesive, brads are then used to add strength to the flat surface of the panel and 1” x 2” pine wood of the cradle. The holes created are filled with wall 'spackle' and sanded smooth. All sides and corners of the wood cradle are sanded to a slightly rounded edge. . |
