People seem to love my work and I get a lot of positive comments, which is very rewarding to hear after being holed up, alone in the studio, working on a new body of work most of the year!
I have been as far as Scottsdale AZ and Sausalito CA for Art Fairs. I found it to be incredibly stressful driving that far (and back) doing the long hours of the show , sometimes 10 am to 9 pm, and the amount of money spent on hotels, food and gas. I only do shows I’m juried into in Portland, Seattle and Salem now. In my artwork, I strive for an artistic style characterized by the use of details and mental associations to evoke subjective and sensory impressions rather than the re-creation of objective reality. I aim to capture a momentary, sensory effect – the impression an object makes on the eye in a fleeting instant, art that does not necessarily rely on realistic depictions.
