In my artwork, I strive for an artistic style characterized by the use of details and mental associations to evoke subjective and sensory impressions rather than the re-creation of objective reality.
I aim to capture a momentary, sensory effect – the impression an object makes on the eye in a fleeting instant, art that does not necessarily rely on realistic depictions. What the eye perceives and what the brain understands are two different things and I seek to capture the former - the optical effects of light or the passage of time and so on.
I think it is hard to describe my work as photography, that is indeed what it is, but I am looking create a more impressionistic look with my work and sometimes I think viewers are puzzled by what they see, because they expect a more standard photography look that includes crispness and clarity.
