Mori no Sheisin
My creative spirit is awakened by the beauty I see in naturally occurring patterns and textures. I find beauty in imperfection and often see it in scarred and weathered surfaces. "Mori no Sheisin" is a compilation of such images, including an overlay of a bird image.
Describing My Work
In my artwork, I strive for an artistic style characterized by the use of details and mental associations to evoke subjective and sensory impressions rather than the re-creation of objective reality. I aim to capture a momentary, sensory effect – the impression an object makes on the eye in a fleeting instant, art that does not necessarily rely on realistic depictions. The 1/8" thick plywood is joined to the frame with a strong adhesive, brads are then used to add strength to the flat surface of the panel and 1” x 2” pine wood of the cradle. The holes created are filled with wall 'spackle'...
What is a Giclee Print?
In giclee printing no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original digital image. I use special light-fast inks, which, if kept out of the sun, will remain true for up to 25 years. Image shown titled, "River Pass"
