Looking for Landscapes in Rusty Metal
While I’m shooting I may see a hint of a landscape or cloud I plan to use later, but mostly I just shoot what looks interesting and know I will have ‘discovery’ later as I get them into the computer and see what I have. I do not change the color of an image, I just bring up the saturation and contrast and that usually reveals gorgeous color combinations and textures that I would never think of creating on my own. Hard Hats
Touring the brand new Hampton Inn in trendy Northwest Portland today with Art consultant Diane Kruger and Director of Sales Jessica Rippell and sculptor Joseph Rastovich. I have 10 pieces featured in the lobby for Grand Opening and beyond. The Hotel will open September 2017.
My Advice
My advice to those thinking of submitting to art festivals…go for it! It will be some of the most rewarding and interesting experiences you’ll have in your life. It will make you a better artist - you will understand why you are making art, how to talk about your artistic process and you will learn how to sell you art - all while getting valuable feedback from interested art lovers and art buyers!
Something Magical
It’s such a gamble to do these shows and there is NO guarantee you will sell anything. It’s a crazy lifestyle and only the professional traveling artists that do these shows know how hard it is. But there is something magical about creating an energized art festival from scratch in an empty parking lot or park – it literally comes to life!
